Tamsen Resor
Adriatic Kayak Tours is an American company owned and managed by Tamsen Resor. After exploring the Dalmatian coast and islands on her own - by foot, kayak, and bicycle - she discovered that much of the region's charm lies beyond the reach of large tour groups. Tamsen established AKT as a way to venture past the usual tourist spots, offering visitors a healthy, active holiday experience. "When I first discovered the natural beauty of this area I knew I had to share it with others. Starting this company brought together all my divergent interests: the great outdoors, physical activity, and meeting interesting people from all over the world."
| Radovan
Radovan is from Rijeka, Croatia and is a student at the Technical University for Naval Architecture. He was an avid rower before he discovered sea kayaking. Back then it took him a year to save enough money to buy his own kayak - now that's determination! He spent five years as a guide for Huck Finn before joining AKT in July 2005. Committed to helping others appreciate the beauty of his native Croatia, next year Radovan will study in the U.S. at the National Outdoor Leadership School. He is fluent in English, can speak a little Italian, and boasts he can "grill with the best".
| Tiho
Tiho (Tihomir) hails from Pula, Croatia and now attends business college in Dubrovnik. He spent three years working at hotels in the United States, first at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and later at the Ritz-Carlton in Newport Beach, California. An AKT guide since July 2005, Tiho loves showing the spectacular Dalmatian islands to people from all over the world. He suggests you come to Croatia to experience something you see only in the movies.
| Tomislav
Tomislav is from Trsteno, Croatia and now studies nearby in Dubrovnik at the American College of Management and Technology. A Dalmatian native, he knows everything about the region, from the seas, to the landscape, to the culture. Tomislav held a variety of summer jobs - in computers, accounting, retail, and as a waiter - before joining AKT in May 2005. In his free time he volunteers at a youth group and plays guitar in a local Dubrovnik band. He is also an active member of a mountaineering group that specializes in speleology. "For all you cave explorers out there, I'm your guy."
| Dom
Dom (Domogoj) was born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia and currently studies law there. His grandfather once told him he swam across his first river at the tender age of two. True story or not, he has been hooked on the water ever since. Dom spent eight years as a rower before trying sea kayaking ("quicker and more exciting") and whitewater kayaking ("even more exciting"). After six years as a guide for Huck Finn Adventure Travel, he joined AKT in August 2005. Dom speaks English, French, and German and offers "free legal advice on the water".
| Turner
Turner grew up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and currently studies at Colorado College. From an early age he developed a love for the outdoors, spending his much of his youth climbing in the Tetons, mountain biking, skiing, and playing soccer. At 13 he discovered the thrill of whitewater, and by 19 he was leading whitewater rafting trips on the Snake River. After leading sea kayak trips in Mexico and spending a year in the mountains of Spain, he's now fluent in Spanish. Turner joined AKT in May 2005 and was instantly inspired by the Croatian coastline. "These are some of the most beautiful and unique waters in the world."
